The Barbados Water Authority (BWA) has started the laying of pipes from its substation at Vineyard, St Philip, as part of its effort to get water-starved areas in St John, St Joseph, and St George the precious commodity as soon as possible.
This was revealed recently by new Minister in the Ministry of Water Resources, Charles Griffith.
He made the announcement during a call to the radio call-in programme Down To Brass Tacks, to respond to a number of queries regarding unsatisfactory customer service at the state-owned enterprise.
“We have started the process of looking to move water from Vineyard to Bowmanston and Golden Ridge. We started to drop the pipes, and in short time we will look to have to contractors do trenching at that location. That is under way and there is another area, which I do not want to expand on now, where we are looking to mitigate the current circumstances in relation to getting water across the entire eastern corridor,” Griffith added.
