There is no reason why the COVID-19 Monitoring Unit should not meet with the Alliance Owners of Public Transport, says communications and marketing officer Mark A. Haynes.
He said the alliance had legitimate concerns and deserved the “common courtesy” of a chance to ventilate them.
“We are still awaiting a meeting. We have not officially written to the unit but my chairman did make contact with a member. I can’t say when a meeting will occur but I would like to think if you have a COVID-19, then why should the PSV [public service vehicle] sector not be given the common courtesy of a hearing like anyone else?
“We want to have certain matters and anomalies addressed and the unit should be amenable. You can’t meet with one sector and not another. So I hope common sense prevails and we get a meeting soon,” he said. (CA)
