Ifill School Police Sports Club spoiled Division 3 champs Chargers’ coronation by handing them the first defeat in their final match of the Goddard Enterprises Limited Volleyball League season on Tuesday night at Hill Road.

Home team Chargers were beaten by the lawmen in a game which went back and forth before Charges folded 25-21, 23-25, 14-16.

Stephen Packer and former Barbados player Sharon Bovell had looked like leading Chargers to a repeat of their first-round win over Police.

Bovell provided great laughter when she repeatedly scored for Chargers, particularly when she smacked an attack off of the hands of Police’s 6ft 6in blocker Romel Agard. But after Agard and Mario Richards found their range, Police battled back to take the second set. (KB)
