Barbados’ newest COVID-19 patient is a 25-year-old woman who arrived at the Grantley Adams International Airport on August 17, 2020.
The Barbadian woman travelled from the United States via Jamaica, arriving on Caribbean Airlines.
She was in quarantine prior to her positive retest on Friday and is now in isolation at Harrison Point, St Lucy.
That was among 171 tests performed by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory and this diagnosis raises the confirmed cases to 158, comprising 83 females and 75 males.
Meanwhile, two people recovered and were discharged from isolation after a second consecutive negative test.
Overall, 25 people remain in isolation, 126 recovered and there were seven deaths.
Up to Friday, the public health laboratory completed 15 503 tests. (PR/SAT)
