Drivers and pedestrians who traverse Westmoreland, St James, got the green light earlier this week.
The area along a long stretch of the Ronald Mapp Highway had seen several bad accidents and fatalities, and after of complaints from the public, the Ministry of Transport, Works and Maintenance installed traffic lights which were expected to be operational by mid-July.
And on Wednesday, the lights were finally turned on.
There was some congestion of traffic heading south to Bridgetown, especially in the morning, but that soon transitioned to a smooth flow on both sides. Â (BA)
