Cyclist dies on the spot

A male cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene after a collision with a car along St Stephen’s Hill, St Michael on Wednesday afternoon.

Police say the cyclist was travelling from Waterman Road on to St Stephen’s Hill, while the car, MX934, was travelling west from St Stephen’s Hill towards Black Rock Main Road when the accident occurred around 1:30 p.m.

The identity of the deceased was not released.

The driver was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by ambulance, complaining of back and shoulder injuries.
