A flash-flood watch is in effect for Barbados from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday.

A flash-flood watch is issued when heavy or excessive rainfall in a short period of time (generally less than 6 hours) could result in flooding within the watch area.

It does not mean that flooding will occur, but it is possible.

Maximum rainfall accumulations of 20 to 50mm in heavy showers are forecast, says The Met Office.

The watch may be discontinued sooner, if conditions warrant. (PR/SAT)
