Barbados’ Platinum Coast will get a $15.2 million upgrade starting in another two weeks, after 20 years without rehabilitative work.

And it should all be ready before Christmas.

This was disclosed by Minister of Transport, Works and Water Resources, Ian Gooding-Edghill, who spoke to the media yesterday at the end of a tour at the Holetown Police Station.

It is part of a major Government capital works programme.

All equipment is already on island and funds would be taken directly from the Consolidated Fund to facilitate the work, he said.

The minister said that to be more efficient, all associated work by the Barbados Water Authority and other utility companies would be done simultaneously. (RA)
