The attorney for retired Senior Superintendent John Mark Annel wants more documents, and the prosecution has been ordered to provide them as long as they do not breach national security or confidentiality.
The submissions came as Annel, of Kenrick Hutson Drive, Lucas Street, St Philip, was in the District “A” Magistrates’ Court yesterday for the continuation of his committal proceedings into six indictable charges relating to 650 bullets.
Annel is accused of engaging in wilful misconduct when, as an officer in the Royal Barbados Police Force, he joined the Barbados Rifle and Pistol Federation and purchased 100 rounds of ammunition to be expended on that date, but removed the ammunition from the Waterford, St Michael range without expending them on August 31, 2017.
He is also accused of committing similar acts on September 3,9 and 20, 2017, in relation to 100 bullets on each date, and again on August 3, 2017, in relation to 150 bullets. (HLE)
