The Ministry of Health and Wellness said today no new positive cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in Barbados based on the results of 575 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory on Tuesday, October 6.

This now brings the total number of tests completed by the lab to 25 968. Fourteen people will remain in isolation as there have been no recoveries. The tally of confirmed cases remains at 203. Seven people have died.

Once again, due to the high volume of tests, the publishing of results were delayed. The ministry said resources will be redirected to support a faster turnaround.

Amongst the 575 tests performed were those belonging to people identified through contact tracing linked to the most recent cluster, as well as students and staff of The Ellerslie School. (BGIS)
