A chicane on the Thicketts section on the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) Flow King Of The Hill course for safety reasons should diversify the battle between local, regional and international rally drivers at Stewart’s Hill, St John, today.

BRC’s public relations officer Neil Barnard told Sun Sport today’s course at 3.3 kilometres is shorter than in previous years and starts at Golden Grove but farther away from the St Catherine’s Anglican Church at 10 a.m.

“We have not made many changes to the course, which starts from Golden Grove. For safety reasons, we are starting before St Catherine’s Church and we have included a chicane on the Thicketts straight, which is a bit different and, also for safety reasons, is different from what we have done in the past,” the PRO noted.

Winners of Sol Rally Barbados last year, Dane Skeete and Tyler Mayhew, in the Sol/CO Williams Sand & Lime/Automotive Art Subaru Impreza WRC S12, will no doubt be hoping to start their title defence by claiming the number one door plates for Sol Rally Barbados 202. (TT)
