Four more wins for Bajans

Barbadian jockeys matched Friday’s performance by winning four races on Saturday’s 11-race programme at Woodbine racetrack in Toronto, Canada.

For the second straight day, the evergreen Patrick Husbands led the way with a brace, which moved his tally of wins to 70. His elder brother Simon Husbands won at odds of 26-1 astride Victor’s Destiny and Keveh Nicholls delivered on Bayou Belle.

Patrick Husbands’ double included the Grade II Kennedy Road Stakes, worth CAN$175 000, aboard five-year-old bay horse Ride A Comet.

In the six-furlong sprint, Ride A Comet was well settled off the pace, which was set by Silent Poet, Dixie Gamble and Bajan trainer Carlos Grant’s charge Eskimizin. (LY)
