Management of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital said on Tuesday that in view of the evolving national situation with respect to the COVID-19 pandemic, regular visiting hours continue to be suspended with exceptions being permitted for the following:

• Patients receiving palliative care and end-of-life care.

• Pregnant patients who are in active labour.

• Very ill patients who will be identified by the Department of Nursing Services.

• Paediatric patients. A parent or guardian will be allowed to stay with these patients around the clock.

Visitation to these categories of patients will now be limited to a single visitor per patient and managed through the Department of Nursing Services.

Provision will continue to be made for the single relative or caregiver to drop off toiletries, fresh laundry and small sundries (eg. spectacles, dental aides etc.) for patients.

These deliveries will be facilitated between noon and 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. daily. (PR)
