‘Listen to the doc, not social media’

AS THE DEBATE about taking the AstraZeneca vaccine for COVID-19 rages in Barbados, Chief Magistrate Ian Weekes has advised people to take advice from their doctors and not social media.

He was responding to an employee of the Psychiatric Hospital who said he, as well as other staff members, had been offered the vaccine but he was against taking it because he had seen negative things about it in a video on social media.

He was supposed to give his answer to his employer last Friday.

Chief Magistrate Weekes chastised the man, saying he should not be taking medical advice from social media.
