Legendary fast bowler Sir Curtly Ambrose has rubbished talks of Kraigg Brathwaite replacing Jason Holder as the West Indies Test captain for the upcoming two-match home series against Sri Lanka.

The 28-year-old Brathwaite led the West Indies to a famous 2-0 series win in Bangladesh last week, prompting former captains Sir Clive Lloyd and Deryck Murray to call on Cricket West Indies (CWI) to retain Brathwaite as the skipper.

However, Sir Curtly, who played 98 Tests, capturing 405 wickets for the West Indies, believes Holder should continue as captain despite Brathwaite’s heroics.

“Not because we won the series convincingly it means that we should just discard Jason Holder. I don’t think so. He should still be the captain. Kraigg Brathwaite is capable of leading the team but Jason Holder has done nothing wrong. . . ” he told Weekend Sport during an exclusive interview. (ABG)
