The authoritative voice of veteran broadcaster David Ellis took to Down To Brass Tacks yesterday for one last official time.

During the special four-hour edition of the radio call-in programme, praise was heaped upon Ellis as a fitting end to his long, distinguished career as a journalist, broadcaster and radio producer.

Ellis, who spent more than 40 years in the field, is retiring from Starcom Network, but has set his sights on a new project.

“I have been overwhelmed by the number of calls and messages that I’ve had questioning what I’m going to do next. I can’t tell you that I have fashioned all the things I am going to do but one thing is sure, I will continue to have some association with Brass Tacks. (CA)
