Barbados’ COVID-19 positivity rate is on the downward trend and the number of infections peaked about two weeks ago.

This analysis was given yesterday by Senior Medical Officer in the Ministry of Health, Dr Anton Best, who explained that health experts had completed the sorting of months of backlogged tests, allowing for an accurate picture of where the country stands.

Best also noted that the positivity rate was currently five per cent.

Speaking during a nationally televised press conference hosted by the COVID-19 Communications Unit yesterday, Best explained that having sorted the results in accordance to the date that the tests were administered, it was realised that the country had started the downward trend since February 14. (CLM)
