Police will be doing more to maintain law and order in the Constitution River terminal.

Senior Superintendent Eucklyn Thompson who is in charge of the Bridgetown Division toured the area this morning with other senior officers and said it was a volatile environment for police.

Officers also walked through the soon-to-be-completed terminal building.

Thompson told reporters the complex would hopefully aid officers in maintaining order in the van stand.

The complex is expected to house a police outpost, Barbados Transport Authority offices, and a customer service centre. However, a date for its completion has not been given as yet.

“We are hoping that when this complex is open and in full flow that there will be better flow of police activity in terms of control, crowd control, general behaviour of people,” Thompson said. (Nationnews)
