COVID cases back in double digits

After three straight days of declining COVID-19 cases, including a low of three on Good Friday, the number of new infections was back in double digits.

There were 11 new positive COVID-19 cases – three men and eight women –identified on Saturday, April 3, from among 433 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

Eight people recovered and were discharged from isolation. There are 103 people currently in isolation.

To date, there were 3 679 confirmed cases of the virus – 1 774 females and 1 905 males.  The number of recoveries since March 2020 is 3 534 and deaths at 43.

The public health laboratory conducted 142 972 tests up to April 3.

During the first phase of the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, 63 738 people were vaccinated, comprising 26 344 men and 37 394 women. (BGIS)
