Fine dining despite restrictions

Barbadians turned out at restaurants yesterday to enjoy Easter Sunday lunch, although the COVID-19 restrictions made it a far from the usual Easter weekend.

It is tradition for people to dine out with family and friends at this time of year and enjoy the variety of tasty meals for brunch, lunch buffets or dinner.

While the pandemic has forced restaurants to scale back some of their offerings and special activities, management at some eateries on the South Coast reported that business was relatively good over the weekend and they were glad for the opportunity to open.

At 6Mix Bar + Kitchen in Worthing, Christ Church, general manager Aaron Brewster told the DAILY NATION: “Business has not been bad at all for us. We’ve been getting a mix of people, especially families, seating four or five at a table, making reservations and we’ve been getting a lot of walk-ins. But we tend to pick up around 3:30/4 p.m.; that is when the majority of people start to come so it’s busy. We are glad to be out this weekend and back out in general serving customers and doing business.”
