Two new virus cases, 16 people recover

Two females are the latest people to test positive for novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Barbados.

These cases were identified out of 870 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory on Thursday, May 6.

Meanwhile, 16 people have recovered from the viral illness and were discharged. There are 106 people in isolation.

Barbados has recorded 3 931 confirmed cases (1 898 women and 2 033 men) since last March, from the 157 606 tests carried out by the public health laboratory. There have been 3 847 recoveries and 45 deaths.

As part of the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, 75 360 people have been vaccinated, to date. Of this total, 28 467 people have received both doses. (BGIS)
