The Immunisation Unit of the Ministry of Health and Wellness said on Friday that only the COVID-19 vaccines given to Barbados by the Government of India in February this year will be expiring this month.
The ministry said the vaccine open day being held on Friday at various sites targets people receiving their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine in February and March, or before April 1.
People who received their first vaccine after April 1 are being assured by the Unit that vaccines are available for them to receive their second jab, which will be due in June.
The ministry also said the administering of first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine will resume from Monday, June 7.
Vaccinations will be done via the online appointment system, which was piloted in April, and anyone interested will be able to book the venue, date and time of their appointments.
The ministry said the website www.vaccine.gov.bb is not open as yet, so no bookings can be made at this time.
The website will be opened for bookings from the middle of next week and the Immunisation Unit will provide more details.
