Contact tracing commenced at two schools where one student each tested positive for COVID-19 last Friday.

These are the Ann Hill School and Princess Margaret Secondary School, which are linked to one of the clusters public health officials are battling.

In a release on Sunday night, the Ministry of Education Technological and Vocational Training said: “Contact tracing has started for persons of the Princess Margaret Secondary school. All persons have tested negative. The school was cleaned and sanitised this weekend. Online teaching will be held on Monday 28th and school should resume to regular schedule on Tuesday 29th June.

“To facilitate contact tracing and to allow persons to quarantine from the Ann Hill School that school will operate online for this week Monday, June 28 to Friday July 2, 2021.

“In addition, the Ministry is informing that the Irving Wilson School will be closed on Monday, June 28, 2021, to facilitate a general cleaning.

“Classes will be conducted online on Monday and should resume on Tuesday, June 29, 2021.

“The Ministry of Health and Wellness will speak to parents and teachers of the Ann Hill School and the Irving Wilson School tomorrow at a virtual meeting. The Principals will inform parents of the link.

“The Ministry regrets any inconvenience caused  and thanks parents and guardians for their cooperation.” (PR/SAT)
