No spectators will be allowed at Kensington Oval during the slew of international matches to be staged there at the end of the month.
The Barbados Cricket Association said in a media release yesterday that the non-admittance of spectators will extend to the three One-day Internationals between West Indies and Australia on July 20, 22 and 24, and the two Twenty20 Internationals between West Indies and Pakistan on July 27 and 28.
“Due to the recent directive issued by the Ministry of Health & Wellness in Barbados, there will be no spectators allowed at Kensington Oval during the hosting of the West Indies One-day International and Twenty20 International home series of matches,” the BCA media release said.
Cricket fans in Barbados hoping to see Jason Holder, Shai Hope and Roston Chase in action during the ODIs will not have the same privilege that was extended to spectators in St Lucia and Grenada following meetings earlier this week involving cricket officials, the ministry and the COVID-19 Monitoring Unit.
