Some “pioneers” of the Home Help Programme, which is managed by the National Assistance Board, said they have not received pensions for the last two months.
A group of former workers gathered at the National Assistance Board’s Country Road, St Michael offices this morning to protest.
They said they were surviving “by the Grace of God” and they needed funds to pay their bills.
Director of the National Assistance Board Colleen Walcott was reportedly in a meeting and was not available for comment.
The programme provides daily support to senior citizens and other vulnerable people. (RA)
