Forbes Magazine on Wednesday named Barbadian entertainer and entrepreneur Rihanna among the world’s billionaires.

“Today, Forbes estimates Rihanna’s net worth at $1.7 billion,” it said, placing her second only to Oprah Winfrey in the entertainment industry and tops among female musicians.

But it is not Rihanna’s music which earned the bulk of her wealth.

According to Forbes, her 50 per cent stake in Fenty Beauty – launched in 2017 – earned $1.4 billion. The lingerie line Savage X Fenty, which came the following year, earned an estimated $270 million. She has a 30 per cent stake in that company.

Other revenue was generated via Fenty Skin, which was launched in 2020, and from the music itself.

Rihanna, born Robyn Fenty, is one of Barbados’ cultural ambassadors. Her last album was released in 2016 and fans continue to ask when new music will be released. (SAT)
