Cosmos and Pinelands are the new Under-15 champions, while it was double delight for Fitts Village West Coast when the Barbados Football Association’s Scotiabank National Youth Cup climaxed at the Wildey AstroTurf last Saturday.
The St Peter-based Cosmos captured the Tier 2 Under-15 title with a hard-fought 2-1 victory against United Stars Alliance, while Pinelands prevailed 2-0 against Mavericks to take the Tier 1 crown.
Cosmos took early control of the match, leading 2-0 at the half-time interval courtesy goals by Marcus King and Teshawn Brathwaite. Alliance, playing in the competition for the first time, pulled back a goal in the 60th minute when Tidre Arthur netted but they were unable to get the equaliser.

Pinelands put their stamp on the other final from the first half, with goals from Shawneko Moore and Jaydon Sealy.
It was an enjoyable day for Fitts Village West Coast, as they won both the Tier 2 Under-13 and the Tier 2 Under-17 finals.
Prolific goalscorer Keshawn Haynes was Fitts Village’s hero when he scored the lone goal in his team’s 1-0 victory over Whitehall in the Tier 2 Under-17 final. Fitts Village also defeated Whitehall to take the Under-13 Tier 2 title.
In the Under-17 Tier 1 final, Pro Shottas emerged 3-2 winners over Mavericks, who had taken a 1-0 lead at half-time through Jamali Hutson.
Captain Niall Reid-Stephen and Barbados senior player Dishon Howell scored early in the second half to put Pro Shottas 2-1 ahead. Thierry Gale, who recently made his senior debut against Bermuda, scored the third goal for Pro Shottas, who held on for victory despite Dejuan Walcott pulling back a goal for Mavericks.
Earlier, in the Under-13 Tier 1 final, the National Sports Council Blenheim Ballers pipped Kick Start Hammers 3-2 to take the title.
Khimani Cox was Blenheim Ballers’ hero with a hat-trick, which also gave him the award for the most goals in that division. Khalil Vanderpool-Nurse and Ethan Squires were on target for Kick Start. (EZS)
