65 new COVID cases on Friday

The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory recorded 65 new cases of COVID-19, 29 males and 36 females, from 2 139 tests carried out on Friday, September 3.

The new positives consist of 50 people who are 18 years old and over, and 15 under the age of 18.

There are currently 484 people in isolation.

Since March 2020, 5 248 confirmed cases of the virus (2 587 females and 2 661 males) were recorded.  The death toll from the viral illness is 51.

The public health laboratory conducted 270 263 tests, since February last year.

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, 114 491 first doses of the vaccines were administered, while 95 286 people or 35.2 per cent of the population received second doses and are now fully vaccinated. (BGIS)
