The Barbados Meteorological Services is monitoring two systems in the tropical Atlantic.
The first, Tropical Storm Rose, was located near 17.3N 33.4W at 11 am. This system is moving towards the northwest at 16 mph (26km/h) with maximum sustained winds of 40 mph (65Km/h) with a minimum central pressure of 1007Mb.
The system is expected to continue north-westward over the next few days with a turn towards the north over the next few days.
The Met Office said that based on the initial trajectory, this system does not pose any direct threat to Barbados.
The second feature is a tropical wave located just off the African Coast. This system is still in its early stages, however, initial guidance suggests possible tropical cyclone development over the next five days. A general northwestward motion is expected with this system, however, the Barbados Meteorological Services will continue to monitor the progression of this feature over the next few days.
