It was seven months since he had seen his newborn son, said Aaron Christian Hollis Sherlon Evelyn.

“When I went jail my son was three months old. Now he is ten months. I would like to get back to my son,” he said.

Evelyn was given that opportunity when he was fined for gun possession and released from remand after he appeared via Zoom in the No. 2 Supreme Court.

The 18-year-old, of Tamarind Avenue, Country Road, St Michael, admitted having a 9mm semi-automatic firearm and 12 rounds of 9mm ammunition on April 7 this year. He apologised and begged the court for a second chance.

“I would like to get home and be a father and a big brother. I would like to go home and make wrong things right,” he said. (HLE)
