KINGSTON – Prime Minister Andrew Holness has arrived in Peru as part of an intense working trip overseas where he will hold bilateral talks with key partners as well as participate in the Summit of the Americas here and the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in England.

A government statement said that Holness will deliver a speech at the Business Forum of the Summit of the Americas ahead of bilateral discussions with Chile’s President, Sebastian Pinera and will also meet with other Caribbean leaders and the United States Vice President, Mike Pence.

Holness leaves Peru on Saturday for Brussels where he will address a special session of the African Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) Committee of Ambassadors and meet with Donald Tusk, President of the European Council.

It said prior to his arrival in London for the Commonwealth Summit, Holness will meet with the Jamaican community in Brussels, Antwerp and Paris.

The statement said that Holness will have a full agenda in Britain, holding talks with his British counterpart, Theresa May, and will also be “received by Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace”

The statement said that the private audience with Queen Elizabeth “is specifically organized for Heads of Government who have taken office since the last CHOGM in 2015” and that bilateral discussions are also scheduled with Prince Charles.

Holness is expected to address the summit on the theme Toward a Common Future and will hold bilateral talks with the head of government from Mauritius.

“As part of his focus on economic growth and job creation in Jamaica, Prime Minister Holness will also hold key meetings with current and prospective investors in the business, banking and professional industries,” the statement said, before ending his visit with a town hall meeting with members of the Jamaican diaspora.
