Evergreen jockey Patrick Husbands led four Barbadians who tasted victory at Woodbine Racetrack in Toronto, Canada on Sunday.

The others to grace the winner’s enclosure were the unrelated jockeys Simon Husbands and Chris Husbands along with trainer Nathan Squires, the son of band leader and designer Gwyneth Squires.

Patrick Husbands delivered astride the favourite Wide Awake in a Claiming CAN $26 500 final race.

Going six and one half furlongs, the pair won by one and a quarter lengths after initially sitting three wide on the outside behind the duelling leaders in Our Ticket and Penetanguishene. They crossed the line in one minute, 16.89 seconds. (LY)
