Self-confessed murderer Applon Ishmael Ithamar Parris has told the court that the constant adjournments in his matter have left him unable to sleep as he awaits sentencing for killing lawman Shayne Welch three years ago.

In fact, he has called the adjournments “stressful”.

Parris, of Taitt’s Road, Brittons Hill, St Michael, was back in the No. 2 Supreme Court yesterday via Zoom.

He was represented by attorney Safiya Moore, while the matter was prosecuted by Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Donna Babb-Agard QC.

Parris had pleaded guilty, at an earlier Session of the Continuous Sittings, to the non-capital murder of Constable Welch on March 26, 2018. (HLE)
