Head of the Prison Officers Association, Trevor Browne, was found not guilty of trying to seduce fellow officers from their duty.

The decision was just handed down by Chief Magistrate Ian Weekes in the District A Magistrates Court.

The prosecution has signaled its intention to appeal while Browne says he will be considering further legal action.

Browne, of Cane Garden, St Thomas, was accused of maliciously endeavouring to seduce Stephenson Trotman, a prison officer, from his duty. He was also charged with maliciously endeavouring to seduce prison officers Shanell Ellis-Vaughn, David Davis and Ophneal Austin from their duties between May 1 and 9, 2018.

The charges were brought under Section 27 of the Prison Act.

Browne was represented by Queen’s Counsel Andrew Pilgrim.
