Barbadian Zane Maloney finished strongly to take fourth in the drivers’ championship of this year’s Formula 3 Regional European Championship.

Maloney ended the season with third and seventh place finishes in the first and second races, respectively, of the final round in the Championship this past weekend at the Monza Circuit in northern Italy.

The 18-year-old will be extremely satisfied with his efforts over the past six months, as he helped the French outfit R-ace GP claim the overall team championship.

Maloney initially qualified for the final round as the 10th fastest and employed his customary brand of daring driving, but the resilience of the front-runners made it difficult for him to get as close to them as he would have desired. (NM)
