This month’s issue takes more of a turn along the road of nutrition, great health and well-being. There are features on fitness, how much sun to actually take in, how ultraviolet rays affects your skin, and information about the Delta variant of COVID, among other informative articles. One highlight is the feature on the Better Health resident Nutritionist, Victoria Cox, as we continue shining our spotlight on health and care workers in this World Health Organization dedicated year for these practitioners. And who knew…contact lenses and water don’t mix!

The reality that the COVID pandemic is not going away is beginning to set in. I’m increasingly hearing people say something to the effect: “Well, we got to live with it ‘cos it’s not going away”, or “it’s our norm now, so…”. As such, the articles on pandemic fatigue and burnout are especially relevant to our present way of life.

It’s been around since mankind started to smoke. Lung cancer is not a new disease, but it bears being reminded about every now and then. When was the last time you heard someone say ‘lung cancer’? It is still a real and present danger. Even if you don’t smoke, that second hand/side stream smoke is just like droplets from a person infected with a virus.

The Better Health magazine is published by The Nation Publishing Group which is part of the One Caribbean Media (OCM) group of companies.Another part of OCM is Starcom network, on which one radio station is VOB 92.9FM.
