Anyone interested in participating in the Export Readiness Programme (ERP) 2018, can now apply.

The programme, which falls under the aegis of the Barbados Investment and Development Corporation (BIDC), is geared towards manufacturers and service providers and runs from April 24 to August 9.

It is designed to empower high potential export companies with the knowledge, skills and capabilities to prepare them for expansion into regional and international markets.

The deadline for application is Wednesday, April 18.

Interested individuals may download applications from the BIDC’s website http://www.bidc.org/forms/export-readiness-programme.

Launched in 2011, the ERP is part of BIDC’s bid to enable a thriving and sustainable export sector. While its key aim is to grow Barbadian exports by increasing the number of companies which are actually exporting, it also intends to aid small and medium enterprises in doing business in a global market.

According to BIDC’s Senior Business Development Officer and coordinator of the programme, Beverly Alleyne, participants of the ERP are better equipped to capitalise on regional and international business opportunities for their goods and services. She explained that registrants received valuable insights on how to navigate their entry into new territories, while avoiding costly errors that could derail their export efforts.

Following the Export Readiness Programme 2018, participants will have the opportunity to practise what they have learnt over the 16-week course during a BIDC-coordinated trade mission at the end of the classroom segment. (BGIS)
