Home isolation unit ‘under pressure’

Frustration continues to mount as the home isolation clearance certificate backlog increases.

The issue for many still without clearance certification from the Ministry of Health’s Home Isolation Department is that they are unable to return to work despite spending the required time of at least ten days in isolation.

The situation prompted COVID-19 public advisor David Ellis to take to the airwaves yesterday during Starcom Network’s Down To Brass Tacks call-in programme to again explain what was happening and why it was taking so long for some people to receive clearance certificates.

“The relevant section dealing with certificates to release people from isolation is under immense pressure and therefore we are getting a number of calls, some from people who are quite irate, about the fact they are not getting processed at the kind of speed they desire. (CA)
