July 5 still target date for 11-Plus

The Ministry of Education is pressing ahead with preparations for primary school students to sit the Barbados Secondary Schools Entrance Examination (BSSEE) come July 5.

“We are going ahead with our plans. We have vetted the examination papers with the Caribbean Examinations Council and so on,” said education officer for examinations and assessment, Shamin Ally.

“So we are going ahead with the plans because we need to be in a state of readiness for that July 5 date. If something changes, then so be it, but we need to be in a state of readiness for that exam.”

Ally was speaking following the final town hall meeting on the BSSEE, held at The Alleyne School, Belleplaine, St Andrew on Saturday night. (SB)
