All systems are go for three St Michael schools as hundreds of students return to their compounds today.

Last Thursday, Minister of Education Kay McConney announced that plans were already being put in place to start the Trinity term this week, which would see the continuation of the blended learning system that was reintroduced on February 21.

Yesterday, Westbury Primary School principal Rosalind A. Gittens said everything was in place for today’s start.

“We are ready. My janitorial staff was on duty for the entire two-week break and they would have cleaned the classrooms. We have a sanitisation station in every classroom, thanks to the Ministry of Education, and they have been filled with alcohol. We have soap stations along the corridors and we have all the signage all around the school. So everything is spick and span; we are just waiting on our little ones tomorrow,” she told the DAILY NATION yesterday.

“Last term when the blended approach restarted, some of the parents were sceptical about letting their little ones return to school, but when they came and saw how many stations we had and how we had the stations and thermometers at the gate they were pleased.” (SB)
