310 new virus cases

Barbados recorded 310 new coronavirus (COVID-19) cases, 136 males and 174 females, from the 1 217 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory on Saturday, May 14.

Of the positive cases, 79 people were under the age of 18, and 231 were 18 years and older. There were 110 people in isolation facilities, while 4 587 were in home isolation.

No deaths were recorded yesterday, so the number of deaths related to COVID-19 remains at 433.

The public health laboratory has conducted 670 638 tests since February 2020 and recorded 76 571 COVID-19 cases (35 043 males and 41 528 females).

Under the National COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign, the total number of people with at least one dose is 162 036 (70.9 per cent of the eligible population).

The total number of fully-vaccinated people is 152 357 (66 771 males and 85 586 females) which represents 56.2 per cent of the total population, or 66.7 per cent of the eligible population.

The eligible population represents people who are 12 years and older.  (BGIS)
