Three sets of parents were chastised for failing to monitor their sons as two teenagers and a young man appeared on an aggravated burglary charge in the District “A” Magistrates’ Court.
“You all fail to understand what is going on with your children. The company they keep is sometimes the problem, but wunna ain’t monitoring them,” Chief Magistrate Ian Weekes told the parents yesterday.
The three – Tremaine Alexander Beckles, a 23-year-old general worker, of Neem Avenue, Lower Burney; Joshua Fernandes Jeremy Franklyn, a 19-year-old plumber, of Ficus Link Road, Lower Burney; and Miguel Alvin Campbell, an 18-year-old student, of Neem, Lower Burney, all in St Michael, were not required to plead to entering Silver Fox Arcade, on May 14, and stealing $4 347 belonging to Laura-Ann Holdings Ltd, while armed with two guns and a knife.
Prosecutor Station Sergeant Crishna Graham objected to bail for the three. She also pointed to the strength of the evidence, saying some of the property had been recovered. (HLE)
