COVID-19 Update for May 26

Barbados recorded 178 new cases of COVID-19, 77 males and 101 females from the 758 tests carried out on Thursday, May 26, by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

The cases consisted of 35 people under the age of 18, and 143 who were 18 years and older.

There were 61 people in isolation facilities, while 2 393 were in home isolation.

As at May 26, the number of recorded COVID-19 related deaths stands at 444.

The public health laboratory has conducted 684 013 tests since February 2020, and recorded 80 038 COVID-19 cases (36 558 males and 43 480 females).

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the number of people with at least one dose is 162 329 (71.1 per cent of the eligible population).

The number of fully vaccinated is 152 723 (56.4 per cent of the total population or 66.9 per cent of the eligible population.  (BGIS)
