Call for parity in sentencing

A senior attorney has called for standardised sentencing for ammunition offences.

In fact, said attorney Arthur Holder, maybe the time has come for guidelines on the matters.

Holder made the call as he delivered submissions on sentence in the matter against Akeem Jamar Belle in the No 4 Supreme Court yesterday.

Belle, of Bottom Close, Wildey, St Michael, had pleaded guilty to having two rounds of .44-calibre ammunition in his possession on January 6, 2017.
