Medical Officers of Health and Clinical Medical Officers of polyclinics are authorised to issue isolation discharge certificates to people who had contracted coronavirus COVID-19.

Any discharge certificates provided by these medical professionals are therefore legitimate, the Ministry of Health and Wellness said on Wednesday in a statement issued by Barbados Government Information Service.

The statement said that the ministry acknowledges that situations may arise where “persons do not receive their electronic certificates at the expected time because, in some cases, they have given inaccurate email addresses”.

The Government Medical Officers are authorised to assist in special circumstances such as these, so as to facilitate people returning to work. (BGIS)
