The Barbados Meteorological Services (BMS) continues to closely monitor the progress of a tropical wave near 32/33W or some 3020KM (1875 miles) east of Barbados at 5 p.m.
The system has generally remained disorganised throughout the day as it tracks westward near 15 to 20 mph (24-32km/h), however, the BMS has elevated marine, excess rainfall and wind alerts to yellow level for Tuesday, June 28, 2022.
A general westward to slightly north of westward motion with an increase in forward speed around Monday is expected, according to a statement from the Barbados Meteorological Services.
Some slow development is expected over the next few days and a tropical depression could form early or by the middle of next week.
BMS is urging the public to remain on the alert for messages from officials sources such as and the Department of Emergency Management during the weekend and, in particular, early next week.
The elevated marine, excess rainfall and wind alerts to yellow level for Tuesday means that the public should be aware that there is the possibility of hazardous weather conditions within the next few days.
