Sada Williams sits on the cusp of more athletics glory on Thursday and will be looking to bring the curtain down on her greatest ever track and field season when she competes in the finals of the prestigious World Athletics Diamond League meet in Zurich, Switzerland.

The Barbadian World Championships bronze medallist and Commonwealth Games champion and record-holder, who has won the hearts of fans at home and abroad, is already a Diamond League prize winner after finishing third in last year’s final of the women’s 400 metres.

This time around, Williams, 24, is in the shape of her life and heads into the final with the second fastest time of 49.75 seconds behind Tokyo 2020 and World silver medallist Marileidy Paulino (49.49).

Noticeably absent from the list of entries is World and Olympic champion Shaunae Miller-Uibo. She qualified in both the women’s 200 and 400 metres, but opted not to compete.

The Bahamian decided to end her season after producing another gold medal at the North American, Central American And Caribbean Championships (NACAC) last month in Grand Bahama.
