AUB welcomes 57 new students

The American University of Barbados School of Medicine welcomed 57 new students when it held its White Coat Ceremony at the Wildey Campus Auditorium on Friday.

The ceremony saw a cohort of 29 males and 28 females from over 10 countries transition from pre-medical studies into the medical program. Students were draped in white coats as a symbolic demonstration of their advancement.

The day’s celebration also included a Student Award Ceremony which awarded students who have excelled among their peers. Two main award categories were issued. The award for “Outstanding Academic Achievement” was issued to the top performer in each class. 127 deserving students received this award. The much coveted “Dean’s List Award” was awarded to the top student per semester within the Faculties of Premedical and Medical Sciences. 39 Dean’s List Awards were presented.
