Parents demand action

As environmental problems persist at the Lawrence T. Gay Memorial School some parents have not ruled out a protest march in a bid to get results.

“We hope [Government] takes things here more seriously. Why do we have to deal with this displacement all the time? Parents don’t work for themselves and I have already had to stay home to take care of my daughter,” said parent-teacher association (PTA) president, Steffanie Williams.

“If it comes to conducting a march, that is what we will do. It shouldn’t have to come to a march for us to get results, but we will do it if we have to,” she said.

Environmental issues continue to affect the school at Spooner’s Hill, St Michael, and students have now been relocated to three different places.

During a tour of the compound on Saturday, Williams said the problems have been going on for far too long. (Nation News)
