Contractor Anderson Leon Browne, whose actions “destroyed the career and reputation” of a bank official who helped him at the urging of a politician, was sentenced to eight years in prison when he appeared in the No. 5A Supreme Court yesterday.

However, he will serve seven years minus the time he has already spent on remand.

Browne, 67, whose aliases are “Fabian Kellman”, “Shortman” or “Andy”, of Seaview Road, Ruby Park, St Philip, was found guilty, at an earlier Session of the Continuous Sittings, of 11 counts of uttering a forged document, 11 counts of obtaining money on a forged instrument and one count of money laundering.

Principal Crown Counsel Krystal Delaney prosecuted, while Brown was represented by attorneys Arthur Holder and Mariah Arthur.

Browne had four prior convictions at the Supreme Court – all for theft of money from CIBC Bank. (HLE)
